As many know, Solid Cactus was acquired by Jacksonville, FL based web.com (NASDAQ: WWWW) on Monday, April 27, 2009. We are all very excited to be part of the 850 member team that makes up web.com.
Joe Palko and I founded Solid Cactus in 2001 and like I told one newspaper reporter, the acquisition was like seeing your teenager graduate then go off to college. Letting go was difficult, but what lies ahead for us as a company is exciting. When we were considering the deal one question that always came to the forefront of our minds above everything else was “are we doing what is best for the company, our team members and our customers.” Believe me when I say this, we wouldn’t have done the deal if that question couldn’t be answered with a “yes.”
One of the big things that attracted us to web.com was, like us, we have a set of values and a culture that is very unique. Preserving those values and that culture was paramount. One thing every team member was provided with was a table tent reminder of the web.com values that we strive to live by every day:
- Consistently show respect, honesty and professionalism in all interactions with customers, fellow employees and all other people with whom we have contact.
- Continuously improve our services and products and the ways we offer them to create greater value for our customers.
- Keep customer satisfaction as our top priority.

It’s a new day at Solid Cactus and we’re glad to have you along for the ride.
